Club Present Cheque to Waterford Hospice

Attention: open in a new window. PDFPrintE-mail

On Saturday last members of the Carrick on Suir sprintcheque2Motor Club had the pleasure of presenting a cheque for €4341 to the Waterford Hospice. The funds being raised at the club’s recent rally sprint, held a month ago on Sunday November 4th at the Waterford Airport Business Park.

Presenting the cheque, Club Chairman, Terence Kearney said, “On behalf of the Carrick Motor Club it’s my privilege to present this cheque today to the Waterford Hospice. This year we decided during our preliminary planning of the event to donate the proceeds from the sprint to the Waterford Hospice. Waterford Hospice carries out incredible work throughout Waterford City and County. As the majority of their patients suffer from cancer and other life threatening illnesses, they are constantly at the hard face of patient care and we hope funds like these help in some small way.”

Representing the Waterford Hospice Marie Cummins said, “On behalf of Waterford Hospice I would like to sincerely thank Carrick on Suir Motor for their wonderful efforts in raising this fantastic amount. The funds raised from the rally sprint will be put to good use over the Christmas period.”

Barry Duggan, Clerk of Couse for the event said “We had a great day again this year out at Waterford Airport Business Park, the weather went against us but the rain did not stop a hugely successful day’s motorsport. I want to thank our main sponsors; Doyle Concrete, Shay Power Ltd, Alan Commins Ltd, Nicky's Sports Bar, SuirSide Construction and Ml Murphy Crash Repair, without their support it would not be possible to run the event. I also want to thank Waterford Hospice for their help in the promotion of the event and last of all I want to thank all the people who came along on the day. We already have some plans for next year and hopefully the sun will shine on us.”
